Why Frontsie

Why the front seat wins

Four things you'll notice on the first ride.

Between your arms

They sit right in front of you. You talk, they point, you both watch the same road.

On in about 10 minutes

One clamp on the seat post, one bolt, done. Comes off the same way for a solo ride.

Grows with them

Foot pegs move up the post and the support arm adjusts from 35 to 43 cm. Roughly age 2 to 5.

Padded where it counts

22 by 20 cm seat with a 3.5 cm cushion, foam-wrapped rail and rubber grips on the handlebar and pegs.

Behind you vs. up front

Seat behind youUp front with Frontsie
You talk to the back of a helmetYou talk face to face at every stop
Their view: your backTheir view: the whole road, first
Glance back to see how they're doingThey're right there, between your arms

You see them. They see everything.

With the seat up front, your little one sits right between your arms. You talk the whole ride, they point at every dog, and you both watch the same road.

A seat behind you means a conversation with the back of a helmet. Up front, you get the look on their face when the ducks show up.

Bolts on in about 10 minutes

The clamp goes around your seat post (round posts up to 4.5 cm). Slide in the bolt, tighten it, and set the support arm so the seat sits where your arms are comfortable. That's the whole install.

It comes off the same way, so your Saturday solo ride still happens. Check the bolts before every ride, and bring the helmets. Both of them.

Made for little legs

A padded 22 by 20 cm seat with a 3.5 cm cushion. A foam-wrapped rail around the sides and front. A short handlebar with rubber grips, because every kid wants to hold something. Foot pegs with grips that move up the post as they grow.

It's for kids who already sit up on their own, roughly 2 to 5. Red rail and grips, or all black with a thicker pad.

She narrates the whole ride

Our daughter is 3 and hated the trailer because she couldn't see anything. Now she's up front telling me about every bird. I stopped riding for two years. We've been out every evening this week.

On the bike in one evening

Took me about fifteen minutes with the wrench from the kitchen drawer. The clamp fit my hybrid's seat post fine. I ride with my knees a bit wider but you stop noticing after a block.

The grips were the selling point

He holds the little handlebar like he's steering. Feet on the pegs, helmet on, off we go to daycare. Grandma wants one for her bike now.

Questions before you order

Will it fit my bike?

The seat clamps to a round seat post up to 4.5 cm (1.77 in) across, and you need a few centimetres of exposed post above the frame to clamp onto. That covers most hybrids, city bikes, cruisers and hardtail mountain bikes. We don't recommend it for carbon seat posts, dropper posts, or bikes where the post is hidden inside the frame. Not sure? Send a photo of your seat post to hello@frontsie.com and we'll tell you.

What age is it for?

Kids who already sit up on their own and can hold on, roughly 2 to 5 years old. The rail is about 33 to 35 cm wide inside, so it's a snug fit for a toddler and gets tight around age 5. You know your kid best; if they're not ready to sit still for a ride, wait a few months.

What holds them in?

A foam-wrapped rail wraps around the sides and the front, and the short handlebar gives them something to hold with both hands. Their feet rest on the pegs. There's nothing behind them except you, which is the whole idea: your arms are around them the entire ride. Helmets on, slow and steady, and start with a lap of the driveway.

How do you pedal with a seat there?

The seat sits between your arms, so you pedal with your knees a little wider than usual. Most parents stop noticing after the first block. The support arm adjusts from 35 to 43 cm, so you can move the seat forward or back until it feels right for your bike and your reach.

How long does shipping take?

Orders ship within 1 to 5 business days with tracking and arrive in 7 to 21 days depending on where you are. Shipping is free worldwide. The parcel weighs about 3 kg, so it may come by courier rather than in the mailbox.

What if I want to return it?

You have 30 days from delivery for an unused seat in its original box. Write to hello@frontsie.com first and we'll send instructions; return shipping is on you. If a part arrives bent, damaged or missing, send a photo within 48 hours and we'll replace it free of charge. Bent or missing parts within the first 90 days are replaced too.
